Nitro’s first ever Jr National Championship for our Men! That’s right – the Nitro men’s final scores looked like this at the close of tonight’s final session of the Speedo USA Jr Nationals – the fastest meet in the country for 18 and Unders:

- Sarasota Y Sharks 169 pts
- Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (PASA) 160 pts
- Swim Atlanta 153 pts
- North Baltimore Aquatic Club 146.5 pts
- Bolles School Sharks 138 pts
- Upper Dublin Aquatic Club 117.5 pts
- Indie Swimming 97 pts
- Pleasonton Seahawks 90 pts
- King Aquatic Club 88.5
There was a total of 95 teams who scored points, and several other teams that did not. Nitro sits atop that list for the first time ever!!
Nitro women swam an outstanding meet as well! Combined team points, Nitro took 2nd in the country!! PASA edged us out when it was all said and done by 28 points!!
I just hung up the phone with Coach Tim, as he and the families were getting ready to celebrate at a late team dinner, but he wanted to be sure everyone went to @nitronational on twitter (just google that) and scroll through some of the pictures to get a feel for the amazing feat that the team just accomplished! He said the place was going crazy – from the stands all the way down to the pool deck!
Congratulations to everyone there who represented Nitro. Coaches Isaac and Paul spent countless hours on the deck alongside Tim helping with whatever needed handling. Robert was in a meet up in Lewisville all weekend long and what does he do after that meet? He hustles down to be there today and this evening alongside the team. A special Thank You to the families who made the trip to see some of the action at the meet, and cheering our amazing athletes on. This is a very special group of athletes, who show such positive leadership daily. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of young people. We’re all so proud of them! Way to go Nitro!
