Swimming World Cup 2014 Recap by Coach Tim O’Brien
Sean Grieshop was a member of the USA 18 and under World Cup Team that participated in the Tokyo and Singapore World Cup stops. This was a huge honor for Sean as only 6 US men made that trip along with 10 US women. These swimmers competed in these high caliber meets against Olympians from around the World with lots of prize money on the line ( for the pro’s ). Sean performed incredibly well with the following placings and note these meets are conducted in SCM:
4th in Singapore in the 400 im with a 4:07.75
5th in Singapore in the 1500 free with a 14:56.24
6th in Tokyo in the 400 im with a 4:09.58
7th in Singapore in the 400 free with a 3:46.27
Sean was also part of the Bronze Medal winning 200 mixed gender FR along with: Patrick Mulcare, Katie Drabot and Hannah Kukurugya
Also of note is Sean’s 400 im is the 13 fastest time ever done by an American and currently the 18th fastest time in the world and top US time
Coach Tim O’Brien coached the US National Team swimmers participating at the Beijing stop of the World Cup before travelling with them to Tokyo and becoming the Head Coach of the 18 and under World Cup Team for the Tokyo and Singapore stops.
